Unfortunately as a former Aupair this agency takes advantage of young girls from another country, in my hometown I was told “I’ll travel around the US and have best experience of my life” meaning I’ll have to pay to come to US over $2,000 USD and then they charge Host families around $30,000 USD and tell them “they are paying for the Aupair expenses of relocation “ which is not true because we pay our own traveling expenses from our countries! My Area Director in California (Ventura) was a very racist white woman when I rematch she treated me to call US border agents on me (is ilegal btw)

Being an Aupair ruin my mental and physical health. This program is the new slavering you get 4$ an hour and force to work 45h a week no break with only one day off if families follow the rules

Please do not do this

Here's how AuPairCare can say that 92+% of host families recommend them: a host family is immediately removed from the program if they fill out the anonymous survey that they are not satisfied. We were a satisfied host family of FOUR years until the agency sent me an Au Pair who lost all her documents at the NYC training. The agency helped her secure one-way paperwork to go home to South Africa within four weeks and then sent her to me in California to figure everything out on my own and pay for everything.

When I complained that they were charging me for this experience, they put my account on hold and sent a survey on our satisfaction level, which was low. We were immediately kicked out. This happened to another Bay Area family after indicating a lack of satisfaction. Thankfully, I paid by credit card and got a refund through a credit card dispute.

We had two amazing Area Directors over the years - Dijana and Heidi. Cristina Magro, somehow the Regional Manager, is extremely abrasive and I avoided her as much as I could.

I truly have had an amazing experience with Aupair Care, I am currently looking for my 3rd au pair with the APC program, and we are so sad to see ours leave in September after two years with us. My kids have truly gotten the cultural experience with having au pairs from Mexico and South Africa in our home! We can't wait to see what the future and our next match holds!

These people are a scam. They essentially provide a platform to match families with potential aupairs. After our aupair arrived, we learned that she had been placed with 4 families in the past year, we asked our area director, but she was like it's difficult to get information on their previous placement. Mind you that it's the same company the placement was through, which was disappointing. After 6 months of small things becoming bigger items, we would communicate with both our aupair and the area director, but they didn't do anything to try and mitigate and resolve the situation. We eventually had a match break with the aupair leaving, she did some property damage in her room and we purchased an airline ticket for her vacation. Aupaircare refused to get us reimbursed for expenses we incurred on behalf of the aupair, but also didn't reimburse use for the damages to the room. Ultimately, they made the decision to end our relationship with them leaving us stranded for childcare. We are in the process of pursuing legal action against them. Very poor business model.... If you need childcare and a company that will work with you, please look elsewhere. If you are looking to be ignored and left with paying for things you didn't sign up for, aupaircare is great at taking your money and not helping you.

I used AuPairCare for the first time to hire an in-country aupair who was in a rematch status with the previous family. After 4 months with us and 2 months before ending her 1st year, the aupair decided to quit the program and apply for a tourist visa through a lawyer and stay in the US with her US boyfriend. We had an amicable relationship with the aupair and left in good terms. We informed Aupaircare about the change, had an exit interview done, but the company is refusing to give us back all of the unused monies we paid.

They would ONLY credit the full refund if the host family, contracts another one of their aupairs. Yet, the company did not have any available aupairs for the duration. Yet, they refused to give us back all the money we paid them until April 28, 2023 and penalize the host family and keep a part of the refund, even thought, it was the aupair that voluntarily changed her status, and Aupaircare did NOT have any other available aupairs for the duration involved.

ALSO, we paid a placement fee of $350 in addition to the program fee, even though, we had met/contacted the aupair outside of their companie's website in another website/online forum, yet we still had to pay a placement fee and NOW it is not at least partially refunded in their refund calculation.

Also, according to their contract, if you have an aupair for more then 6 months and they leaves the program for any reason, you lose the remaining program fees you paid Aupaircare. I WOULDN'T HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.. Also, according to their contract, you waive your legal rights, and you can only go to arbitration with them if you have an issue with their program, fees, etc.

Want to lose thousands of dollars, have no backup childcare and get verbally abused by a corporation intent on keeping your money? Do not use this agency. If you don't believe all of the reviews (check any review site and/or the BBB entry for them), make sure you pay them with a credit card with a strong consumer dispute record.

We have worked with several au pair agencies over 7 years and many wonderful experiences. We know how to interview and host au pairs. AuPairCare was the worst experience by a wide margin and they kept $3,000+ of our "credit", canceled our account and kept all of our money. Once you are scammed, be sure to file with the BBB, your state attorney general and local NBC/CBS/ABC affiliate's investigative journalists.

Can't say you were not warned.

This agency is an absolute SCAM. We renewed our aupair to stay for another year and she quit after 13 days into the new year due to Covid because she has to work 35 hours a week instead of 20, which she was used to when kids are in school (they are supposed to work up to 45 hours). The agency would not refund our full payment and kept over $2000 for 13 days even though she rematched with another family who paid for her full year. Keep away unless you want to be cheated big time if your aupair doesn't work out.
